SALOON

On entering the saloon area, one is struck by the elegance, light and spaciousness. There are 2 open vent windows and glass windowed bow doors. The ceiling, wall linings and trims are all in Maple.

The ceiling feature is a stunning diamond pattern, with alternating lights and mushroom vents running centrally along the length and extending into the galley. The open-plan design of these two rooms creates an illusion of more space than would normally be found in a narrow boat.

Heating is provided by a corner carabo solid fuel stove, sitting in a tasefully tiled surround, with brass trim. There is also a radiator with Maple and open brass fretwork cover. A drop-leaf Maple table sits in the opposite corner just past the galley. Scrolled, hinged legs provide the table supports.

A free-standing bed/settee provides comfortable seating and an extra two berts if desired.

At the bow are the centrally placed steps with cupboard storage underneath. On either side are stylish, angled, low-level cupboards, one having a deceptively angled drawer and the other with a false front housing a radio/CD system. Sitting on this cupboard is a 12v TV/video combi.

In the 4 ceiling corners of the room are built in speakers connected to the radio/CD system. The speaker boxes are a work of art in themselves, neatly fitting into the heavily moulded cornices.
